With a legacy spanning over 140 years, the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) continues to be a driving force in the economic and social advancement of our region. Our Chamber not only serves as the voice of nearly 66,000 members across 49 professional committees, but also plays an active role in project development, business engagement, and the promotion of both domestic and international trade.
ACCI is a leading institution that represents all key sectors of Antalya’s economy—including production, exports, tourism, agriculture, trade, and industry—and functions as a think tank shaping the future vision of our city. Within this broader economic landscape, the agricultural sector holds strategic importance for us.
Antalya stands out as one of Türkiye’s most distinguished cities in the field of agriculture. Agriculture and agro-based industries play a pivotal role in the city, both economically and socially. Within the scope of crop production, Antalya is distinguished by fruit cultivation, vegetable production, greenhouse-grown fruits and vegetables, field crops, ornamental plants (including outdoor, indoor, and cut flowers), as well as the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants. According to 2024 data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Antalya accounts for 40.8% of Türkiye’s greenhouse cultivation area, with 316,957 decares out of a total of 776,110 decares nationwide. While approximately 248,000 decares were used for greenhouse cultivation in 2014, this area expanded by 27.8% to nearly 317,000 decares in 2024. Antalya hosts 79.24% of Türkiye’s glass greenhouses and 54.12% of its plastic greenhouses. Antalya accounts for 50% of Türkiye’s greenhouse fruit and vegetable production. Benefiting from its rich agricultural potential, Antalya produces approximately 8 million tons of crops, representing 4% of the country’s total plant production. The province leads in greenhouse cultivation of specific crops, producing 61.7% of Türkiye’s tomatoes, 66.3% of peppers, 61% of eggplants, and 39.5% of cucumbers. In terms of greenhouse ornamental plant production, Antalya holds a 48.25% share nationwide, with a total of 798,511,560 ornamental plants cultivated in greenhouses. Within this category, cut flowers stand out with a 98% share, and Antalya contributes 61.91% of Türkiye’s overall cut flower production.
Within our Chamber, five professional committees are directly dedicated to agriculture, representing approximately 7,500 members engaged in fields such as farming, greenhouse cultivation, seed and fertilizer production, sapling cultivation, crop protection, and agricultural machinery.
To support our members in these sectors, we regularly hold committee meetings, sectoral workshops, and informative events—allowing us to identify key needs, develop solutions, and strengthen solidarity within the agricultural community. We also develop policy recommendations at both local and national levels and implement projects in collaboration with public institutions and universities.
In addition, we aim to lead the sector’s transformation by organizing trainings, seminars, and informational meetings on key topics such as digital agriculture, sustainable production, and good agricultural practices. Dedicated efforts are being made to increase the sector’s export potential. Active participation of ACCI in platforms such as the Antalya Agriculture Council contributes to the sector’s development through collective wisdom.
One of the cornerstones of our agricultural strategy is our long-standing collaboration with the GROWTECH. ANTALYA Exhibition. Recognized as one of the world’s largest events in greenhouse agriculture, GROWTECH. ANTALYA not only strengthens Antalya’s global positioning in agricultural technologies but also brings significant value to our local ecosystem.
As ACCI, we proudly support GROWTECH. ANTALYA’s promotional efforts, encourage the active participation of our members, and contribute to the fair’s international B2B matchmaking programs. A hallmark of our collaboration is the “ATSO GROWTECH Agricultural Innovation Awards”, which we have co-organized for the past seven years to foster a culture of innovation and support the development of new, high-value-added products, services, and production models based on research and development, human capital, and intellectual property. Now in its eighth year, the applications for competition feature seven categories—Greenhouse and Greenhouse Technologies, Irrigation and Irrigation Technologies, Seeds & Saplings, Plant Nutrition, Plant Protection, Smart Agricultural Technologies, and Special Award for Public Bodies. Through applications in these categories, we reward individual entrepreneurs who have brought their agricultural business ideas to life, as well as private sector companies whose work contributes to raising awareness within the sector.
Another important initiative that ACCI support is “GROWTECH. ANTALYA on Campus” which serves to bridge the gap between academia and industry. By connecting university students with agricultural professionals, this program helps foster a shared vision for the future of the sector. As a Chamber, we consider the active involvement of young people in agriculture not only a strategic investment in the sector’s future, but also a core element of our commitment to social responsibility.
Events like GROWTECH. ANTALYA provide not only economic value but also facilitate the transfer of knowledge, technology, and strategic foresight to Antalya. These are essential elements for building a competitive, sustainable agricultural economy.
As the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we remain firmly committed to strengthening our cooperation with GROWTECH. ANTALYA and advancing Antalya’s position as a global hub for agricultural innovation. Through strategic partnerships, visionary leadership, and member-oriented services, ACCI will continue to empower the agricultural sector and contribute to shaping its future.
