Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture

Akdeniz University Faculty of Agriculture was established on March 30, 1983, in Antalya as the second faculty of the university. Education started with the admission of students to the Department of Horticulture in the academic year 1984-1985. Today, our faculty has taken its place among the leading agricultural faculties in Turkey with its modern and qualified education and training programs, continuously developing research and application infrastructure, contribution to scientific accumulation and success in international relations.  Our faculty currently employs 100 academic staff and 14 research assistants. The total number of students is around 2500. In our faculty, education is provided at undergraduate and graduate (Master's and Doctorate) levels.

Our faculty has started the first and only 7+1 Applied Education System among the Faculties of Agriculture in Turkey. Our students, who started in the 2022-2023 academic year, complete their courses in 7 semesters and could transfer their knowledge to practice in institutions and organizations related to their departments in their last semester, which is their 8th semester.

In our faculty, our 3rd and 4th grade students are brought together with our external stakeholders within the scope of the “Mentoring” program, which has been implemented for the first time among the Faculties of Agriculture in Turkey since the 2020-2021 academic year. With this system, which we have implemented in cooperation with 31 companies, our students have the opportunity to share their experiences with industry stakeholders once a month.

“GROWTECH.@Campus” event is organized every year with the cooperation between our faculty and GROWTECH., the world's largest greenhouse agriculture fair. In this event, companies and students of our faculty have the opportunity to meet face to face and get opportunities both in terms of internship and finding a job. Many agricultural companies are expected to participate in the event, which will be organized for the third time this year.
