Amazon founder Jeff Bezos ranks 25th on the “Top 100 Landowner Report” list with 420,000 acres (1.7 million decares) of land he owns - Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ranks 41st on the list and tops the list for private farmland ownership

The businessman with the most land among the owners of technology companies is Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.

Bezos ranks 25th in the list with 420 thousand acres (approximately 1.7 million decares) of land he owns.

Considering that the surface area of Istanbul is approximately 5,461 square kilometers (5.4 million acres), it is understood that Bezos owns approximately one third of Istanbul's surface area in the US.

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ranks 41st on the list. Gates owns a total of 270 thousand acres, i.e. 1 million 92 thousand decares of land in the USA.

It is seen that Gates' total land in the USA is 1 in 5 of Istanbul.

According to the report, Gates is known as the largest private agricultural landowner in the country with nearly 1 million decares of highly productive farmland spread across 17 states.

In an article about Gates on The Land Report website, Gates was asked “Why do you acquire so much farmland?” to which he replied, “I own only 4 thousandths of the farmland in the US. I'm buying this farmland to make it more productive and create more jobs.”

According to the “Top 100 Landowners Report”, the Emmerson family ranks first. The family, which operates in the US in areas such as timber, renewable energy and agriculture, owns 2.4 million acres (9.7 million decares) of land. This corresponds to 1.8 times the size of Istanbul.

In 2nd place on the list are John Malone with 2.2 million acres (8.9 million decares), Ted Turner with 2 million acres (8.09 million decares), Stan Kroenke with 1.7 million acres (6.8 million decares) and the Reed family with 1.6 million acres (6.4 million decares).
